Brenham resident, Alan Gerson has been a prolific and talented artist for most of his life. A housepainter in the 1970’s, he soon transitioned to creating and painting signs and commercial artwork. Alan’s interest in other art forms led him to begin painting portraits and then creating beautiful and interesting sculptures. His sculpting includes experimentation with papier-mache, wood, metal, clay, resin, and even concrete.
Frances Gerson has a passion for food that has led her on a journey of flavor, texture, color, and discovery. After owning a restaurant, being a chef and caterer, it was time to trade in her knives, whisks, and ovens for a sewing machine. She says that she is a self-taught artist and creates art using a variety of materials. The majority of her work is of a whimsical nature. Her creations are meant to bring color to your soul…but most of all, make you giggle. To Frances, food parallels art. She can actually compose a dish (art) in her head before she executes it in reality. Enjoy?
